1 Preface

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing about. That’s a quote from Benjamin Franklin. And as an idle man, I intermittently follow it.

In the past decades, I’ve written lots of text. These pieces are mostly my life journal, technological notes, and whimsical thoughts. In a somewhat surprising way, I’ve kept them all. I think that’s mainly because I always use plain text format.

In this book (well, let’s say it is a book), I publish text pieces chosen from my drafts. Please notice the order I list them – they are arranged in chronological order. Although this arrangement doesn’t follow the convention of a news website or personal blog which usually lists its content in reverse chronological order, it makes it more like a book.
